Induction- Week Charles H. Fox | KRYOLAN Talk

Two women from Charles H. Fox- Kryolan came to the university to speak to us about the history and the products, i was fascinated with the talk and  how many products they had.  They are from a professional make-up company who don't just stand for beauty, they are the science behind the products. There was quite a broad diversity of products to suit everyone needs, because all of our skins types are different, some of us have sensitive skin, oily skin. Gemma introduced us to a wide variety of colours, and primers and foundations, eye shadows, lipsticks  it was wonderful to see the different kinds. She said to us her job was interesting because its something new everyday, you never get bored.  I was pretty impressed with her techniques, her knowledge and methods, and some of the projects she has worked on.  I wouldn't ever get bored if i was in that industry because, you never know what the project is your going to be working on, or who you are going to be making up its just fascinating wonderful creativity.  From someone who comes from an art background and has no experience of make-up and hair then talks what Gemma did are important for me and anyone else whose on the course that has come from an art background. I wear make-up its something that interest  me, i have learnt the different types of make-up there is but when it comes applying it professionally that's the bit i don;t know and its the same for hair with me. I have level 1 level 2 in hair dressing got that at school but were talking ages ago so i need my brain to be refreshed with new challenging projects.

Gemma also said that you don't just become a make-up artist its a career where it can takes ages to get established, and known. You have to work hard because there is so much to learn, and so much to take in so you will never be bored. Again its not just the products you need to know your product, how to apply it properly, you could be working on fashion shoot, you could be working on movie set, you don't know what your next project will be, so you have to learn as much as you can. Gemma showed us that and her work which was amazing.  The special effects side of things the amount of props, products for zombies, gun shots, accident scenes its just amazing and that is the career i want to go down pretty much, i have a open mind though.
